High Value Coupons/Free Products

Here are a few great deals available this week or longer:

  • This past Sunday's (10/30) P&G Brandsaver insert (shown above) has a coupon for $2 off any Tide product. Most Walmarts and Targets sell the above trial sizes of Tide detergent for .97 cents. You can use the coupon to get these free + overage to put towards the rest of your purchase. I donate these to homeless shelters.
  • If your Target or Publix sells the 7 oz packages of Hungry Jack Pancake Mix for .99 cents, you can print two $1 off Hungry Jack Mix coupons from Target.com and get two packages for free.

  • Click here to a $1 off Coffee Mates Natural Bliss coupon. Publix has it on sale for around a $1.50 this week so you should be able to get a great deal on it. Remember that you can print each coupon twice.

  • Coupons.com has a new printable for $1/2 off two Ziploc products. You can pair this with the in store Publix coupon  for $1/2 Ziploc products in the Publix Yellow Advantage Flyer. I think that the Ziploc bags start at $2.19 a box so you should be able to get them from $1.19 each!

  • Target currently has Philadelphia Cooking Creme on sale for $2.49. You can stack a $1 off Target.com coupon with a $1 off coupon from coupons.com making it .49 cents each. If your Target doesn't carry it, Publix usually has it for $2.99 which would make it .99 cents, still not a bad deal.
  • Target.com currently has a $1 off any NYC Color Product coupon. Most Targets retail NYC Color Nailpolish for $1.19 and NYC Color Eyeliner for around $1.25. Print two coupons and you could get two beauty products for under .50 cents.

Last Day to Get 30% Off On Plum District

Plum District is currently running a 30% off special from now until Monday. Use the promo code SPOOKY30 and get 30% off any order. If you are not a member you should also get an instant $5 credit for signing up.

Plum District is a discount website that features local and national deals and discounts on activities, travel, photos, jewelry, beauty and more. It is technically a website for moms (which I am clearly not) but I have found lots of good deals on there as well.

This Week's Publix Trip 10/30

Here is today's (Sunday 10/30) relatively small Publix trip. I still managed to get a few great deals and free or free + overage things. Most of these sales were part of either the weekly sale cycle or Green Advantage Flyer deals.

Considering this trip only cost me $25 and includes $7 worth of fresh chicken, eggs and close to $20 worth of coffee, I would say it was a success! Everything except for the chicken was either on sale, had a coupon, or both.

Here is the breakdown:
Total Retail Value: $91.70
Saved: $66.13
Total Spend: $25.57
Total Saved: 72%

Here are the highlights:
  • 2 bags of Halloween candy: retails for $5.99 each, on sale BOGO ($2.99 each)
    • Used a $1/2 Target.com coupon
    • Made them $2.49 each
  • 2 bags of Caribou Coffee: retails for $8.99 each, on sale BOGO ($4.49 each)
    • Used two $2 off coupons from the 10/2 SS
    • Made each bag $2.49
  • 2 boxes of Cheez-its: retails for $4.09 each, on sale BOGO ($2.04 each)
    • Used a $1/2 coupon from the 9/18 RP
    • Made them $1.54 each
  • 2 boxes of Hefty One Zip storage bags, retails for $2.39 a box, on sale BOGO ($1.19 each)
    • Used a $1/2 coupon from the 7/10 RP or the 8/14 RP
    • Made them .69 cents each
  • 4 bottles of Sundown Naturals Vitamin D, retails for $3.49 a bottle, on sale for $2.99 each
    • Used 2 printable manufacturer coupons for $1.50/2
    • Paired that with a $6/2 coupon from the current Publix Green Advantage Flyer
    • I ended up making .75 cents off of each one, which means I got $3 to put towards the rest of my bill
  • 1 tube of Crest toothpaste: retails for $3.27, on sale for $2
    • Used a $1 off coupon from the 10/30 P&G
    • Paired that with a $1 off Publix coupon from the Stocking Spree home mailer
    • Made it completely free!
  • 2 tubes of Pillsbury Simply Buttermilk Biscuits: retails for $2.19 each, on sale for $1.25 each
    • Used a printable coupon for $1/2
    • Made them .75 cents each
  • 2 boxes of Skinny Cow candies: $4.29 each box
    • Used two $1 off manufacturer coupons
    • Paired with two $1.75 off Target.com coupons
    • Made them $1.57 each, not an amazing deal but these are one of my favorite treats and they rarely go on sale at all, so I took advantage of my double coupons
All of these sales are available through Wednesday or longer. Most coupon match up deals can be found in this week's match up. Comment if you have any questions!

Target Ad With Coupon Match Ups 10/30

Here is the Target Ad for the sale cycle starting today 10/30. Be on the look out for Halloween/candy clearance too. Most Targets will also put any food or household items with the past holiday theme on clearance as well so you might be able to use coupons on some of those items too. Be sure to check out all the printable coupons on Target.com before you go.

Target Ad with Coupon Match Ups for 10/30

This link includes the coupon match ups. It will list where you can find each coupon and what the lowest price would be on the item if you had the highest value coupon available. You can click through to the printable coupons and print each one out two times. SS stands for the SmartSource insert and RP stands for the RedPlum newspaper insert.

Don't worry if you don't have some of the listed coupons; you can still get great deals with other available coupons. My local Target does not accept competitors' coupons but they do allow you stack a Target coupon with a manufacturer coupon.

The Peabody Orlando on Sniqueaway

Sniqueaway.com is having a sale on the Peabody Hotel in Orlando this week. The sale is for reservations through March of 2012. I have never stayed at the Peabody but everyone I know who has seemed to love it.

Sniqueaway.com is a discount travel site that is connected with Tripadvisor.com. That great part is that you can read Tripadvisor.com reviews on the hotel on sale before you purchase to see if it is a nice hotel and to see what other guests have to say about their past stays.

Publix Ad With Coupon Match Ups 10/27

Below is the link to the Publix Sale Ad with coupon match ups for the sale cycle starting this Thursday. Looks like a pretty standard week in sales.

There is a good BOGO deal on Caribou Coffee making it $2.50 a bag if you have two of the $2 off coupons from 10/2 SmartSouce. I will personally be stocking up on Velveeta Cheese (BOGO) in preparation for making Cheesey Salsa for upcoming holiday parties. There is also a sale on Crest Toothpaste and Oral-B toothbrushes for $2 each. Depending on what coupons you have, you should be able to get them each for $1 or even FREE.

I read alot of blogs on couponing but the one below is the website I use for printing out my shopping lists because it lets you create a printable list of all the sale items with their corresponding coupons. I create the list and then sit down with my coupon binder and organize all the coupons I will need for a shopping trip. The list will also contain lots of great links to printable coupons to supplement the ones you already have.

Publix Ad With Coupon Match Ups 10/27

There is a new Green Advantage Flyer that will start on Sunday and the current Yellow Advantage Flyer has some great deals and coupons. Make sure you check the cicular rack in the front of the store for those.

Comment below if you have questions on how to use the printable list or if you find any great sales not mentioned in the flyer.

$1.50 Axe Coupon Available Again

RedPlum has some pretty high value coupons available again today.

My personal favorite is $1.50 off any Axe Shower Gel. Pair this with the BOGO free coupon that was in the paper a few weeks again and you could get two bottles for around $2.00.

There is also a $1 off any 2 packages of Vanity Fair napkins which go BOGO at Publix pretty often. Last time I had this coupon, I was able to get two packages for under $1 each with the Publix sale.

Most of the coupons can be printed twice per computer but the Axe coupon seems to only be printing once per computer.

Can You Really Save Money Couponing?

Alot of people comment to me that they try to coupon but they never end up saving any money. All this tells me is that they haven't really committed to it.

When I decided to start couponing, I researched everything that I could. I signed up for all the websites, found every way to get coupons, bought the Sunday paper (sometimes multiple copies) religiously and never went shopping with a prepared list and matched up coupons.

Slowly but surely I have seen our weekly spending drop. I went from saving $20 in one Publix trip to now regularly saving well over $50 while spending $30 or less. I use to get excited to get a tube of toothpaste for $2.00, now I know that it should be free or at least .50 cents or less.

It took me awhile to learn the rock bottom prices for things and it took me over a month to learn to hang on to my coupons until there was a really good sale. These things are now habit.

I never go to the grocery store (or Target or Walmart) without a pre printed list with the current sale prices, sizes and all the possible coupon matches. We only go to Publix once a week or less and Target and Walmart only once every 2 weeks (unless there is an amazing sale on something).

Justin was skeptical of couponing at first. He did not think that the time and effort would result in enough savings. He is now totally convinced and even went on his first solo couponing trip last week. He ended up bring pretty proud of himself : )

If you feel like couponing isn't working for you or you feel like you don't save significant amounts of money, you should commit to it for one full month and see how you feel after that.

Feel free to comment if you have questions!

Last Night's Couponed Dinner

I just wanted to share the dinner that we had at our house last night. It was completely couponed and only cost us $3.00
 !
Here is what we had:
Fresh Express Salad: FREE
Et Tu Salad Kit: $1.06
4 slices of Peppridge Farm Garlic Toast (1/2 a box at .94 a box): .47 cents
Stouffer's Lasagna: $1.49
Total: $3.02

Justin also had plenty of leftovers for lunch today. In my opinion, it was a pretty well rounded and substantial dinner for $1.50 a person and we didn't have to run to the store to get any of it : )

Check out how I got those prices on my latest shopping trips here.

End Of The Month Printable Coupons

With the end of the month quickly approaching (insane isn't it?), make sure that you print about any online coupons that you might want.

There were a good number of new and updated coupons available over the weekend so be sure and check the following websites out. Remember that many of these coupons could "disappear" on November 1st!

This Week's Publix Trip

Here is a photo of this week's Publix trip. After being out of town for a long weekend, we really needed a few fresh items. I am happy to say that it has been well over a week since we last grocery shopped which means that we have been spending less than $40 a week on groceries lately. That is a major improvement from what we were spending.

Here is the breakdown of today's trip:

Total Retail Value: $103. 54

Everything else was either something else we need/use that was on some kind of sale and that I had a coupon for. Make sure you check out the new Yellow Advantage flyer for Publix store coupons and some new good sales that are not advertised in the weekly sale flyer in the paper.

Comment if you have questions about any of the other items or how to plan a similar shopping trip!

Couponing vs. Warehouse Shopping

Since I started couponing, I have only shopped at Sam's Club once. Before this summer, we were shopping there at least 2 times a month. I would always buy things at Sam's that we could not afford in regular quantities at Publix or Target. However, I have found that with couponing I can now get those items for significantly cheaper per item or per unit than I ever could at Sam's.

Here is an interesting price comparison that one of the couponing blogs I read has on buying items at a regular grocery store with coupons versus buying them in bulk at Sam's or Costco.

Kinda makes you think about what a good deal really is, doesn't it?

Publix Ad With Coupon Match Ups 10/20

Below is the link to the Publix Sale Ad with coupon match ups for the sale cycle starting this Thursday. Looks like a pretty standard week in sales.

Nothing too crazy jumps out at me but you might want to stock up on peanut butter with the Skippy deal because peanut butter prices are suppose to rise 40-50% in the next few months because of the storm damage to peanut crops (who knew?).

I read alot of blogs on couponing but the one below is the website I use for printing out my shopping lists because it lets you create a printable list of all the sale items with their corresponding coupons. Butterscotch Oatmeal Chocolate Chip Cookies

These cookies are a favorite in our family. They are my variation on the recipe found under the lid of Quaker Oatmeal. The original recipe calls for raisins but I think that chocolate and butterscotch chips are a much better option.

Butterscotch Oatmeal Chocolate Chip Cookies
  • 1 stick and 6 tablespoons butter softened
  • 3/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup white sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1 and 1/2 cups flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 cups Quaker Oats
  • 1 cup EACH of chocolate chips and butterscotch chips

  1. Beat butter and both sugars with an electric mixer until creamy.
  2. Add eggs and vanilla and beat well.
  3. Mix in flour, baking soda, cinnamon and salt
  4. Stir in oatmeal, butterscotch and chocolate chips.
  5. Drop onto cookie sheet in rounded tablespoons (I use a cookie scoop)

    6. Bake at 350 degrees for about 10 minutes or until lightly browned on top.
Enjoy!

We really did not actually need anything from the grocery store this week. We still had plenty of veggies, meat, eggs, yogurts and milk from my last week's Publix and Walmart trips. I basically went to the store to stock up on a few good deals to add to our stockpile.

Most of these deals I found on the weekly sale link with coupon match ups. These sales are all good until Wednesday or longer so check them out if you want to get some deals!

Let me know if you find any unadvertised deals at Publix this week.

Vero Beach On Groupon!

Sadly the Treasure Coast does not show up on the Palm Beach edition of Groupon very often. But when it does it is usually for a great resturant deal.

La Bodeguita de Vero a Cuban resturant on 43rd in Vero (it replaced the old Felix's), is on Groupon today. You can get a $20 gift certificate for lunch for $10 or a $30 gift certificate for dinner for $15. It looks like the only fine print on it is that you must purchase a food item.

Flip Camcorder On Sale Today With Groupon Goods

Groupon Goods has the Flip MinoHD Camcorder on sale for $65 right now. It normally retails for around $125 so that is a pretty good deal.

If you have never used Groupon before, it is a discount website that features daily deals on dining, services and a variety of experience that are area specific. They also offer daily travel deals and now their latest project is Groupon Goods.

I have bought from Groupon many times and have always been very happy with my purchases. It is free to sign up and you can choose if you want to subscribe to daily deals in your area and nationwide.

Whenever we are about to go on vacation, I always sign up for Groupons in that city. We have saved over $200 on our Chicago trip this summer by using Groupons.

Deal Still Available: "Free" Brita Pitcher at Walmart

I just took advantage of this deal this weekend at Walmart. I was able to find the slim pitcher for $8.37 at my Walmart and my $5 coupon worked perfectly. Had a little trouble finding the rebate form since Brita took it off their website. However, another blog had it available in PDF form. See link below.

You should be able to get a Brita Pitcher for "free" at Walmart after using a coupon and a mail in rebate. Here's how to do it:
  1. Buy a Brita 5 cup pitcher at Walmart (should retail for $8.97)
  2. Use a $5 off 1 Brita Pitcher Coupon (you have to "take the pledge" on the right hand corner)
  3. Mail in a $10 rebate form.
  4. Look for a check in the mail in 2-8 weeks.
This should make the pitcher free plus a few dollars extra in your rebate check.

Get 3 Hallmark Cards "Free" At CVS This Week

CVS is running an Extra Care Bucks (ECB) deal this week that will allow you to get three .99 cent Hallmark cards for "free". Here's how:

  • Buy 3 Hallmark cards (the .99 cents ones) at CVS
  • Pay $2.97 plus tax out of pocket
  • Get $3 in ECB's back
  • Use your $3 ECB's on your next CVS purchase (or if you are me, buy the cards first, get your ECB's and then use them to pay for the rest of your items in a second transaction)
In order to get ECB's you need to have a CVS card. If you don't have one already, you should. They are free to get and allow you to take advantage of all the special weekly sales and ECB offers.

Everything else in the purchase was on sale and/or I had great coupons for. Most of this will be for our lunches and dinners this week but the pasta and peanuts will go into our stockpile and the meatballs are for our Christmas party. I can never find them on sale so I figured I should buy them now and freeze them.

Most of these deals I found on the weekly sale link with coupon match ups. These sales are all good until Wednesday or longer so check them out if you want to get some deals!

Target Ad With Coupon Match Ups for 10/9

Here is the Target Ad for the sale cycle starting today 10/9. It looks like there are a few Target gift card deals so make sure that you check those out.

Target Ad With Coupon Match Ups 10/9

This includes the coupon match ups.

It has taken me 3 months to finally feel like I have most of the coupons they are referring to. My local Target does not accept competitors' coupons but they do allow you stack a Target coupon with a manufacturer coupon.

Publix Green & Yellow Advantage Flyers

Are you familiar with Publix's Green and Yellow Advantage flyers?

If you are not, you should be. These are flyers that Publix puts out in addition to their weekly ads. They usually can be found in the circular display in the front of each store as well as in the Sunday paper the weekend they start.

The green flyers are usually for health and beauty products while the yellow flyers are for food items. The flyers are each valid for a few weeks and often contain great Publix store coupons that you can stack with manufacturer coupons and store sales. They also feature store promotions and great deals going on during that time frame.

Most stores will accept as many of each flyer coupon that you cut out and present at check out so if you find a good deal with manufacturer coupons you can stock up on lots of that product and not need to buy it again until it goes on sale again.

Chocolate Chip Cheesecake Cookies

These are yet another of my pinspired desserts. They are lighter than a chocolate chip cookie yet still rich and delicious. I took 2 dozen of them to Justin's fire station and they were gone in a few hours. So it seems that they are a big hit. They were also very easy to make. Here's how:

Chocolate Chip Cheesecake Cookies

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/8 teaspoon baking soda
  • 10 tablespoons butter (1 stick plus 2 tablespoons)
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 3 ounces cream cheese
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 12 ounces chocolate chips
  1. Combine dry ingredients (flour through soda) in a bowl and set aside.
  2. In mixer, blend butter, sugar, egg, cream cheese, and vanilla.
  3. Slowly add the dry ingredients, mixing with each addition, until all are incorporated.
  4. Stir in the chocolate chips.

5. Drop by tablespoon (or cookie scoop) on to a greased cookie sheet about an inch apart.

6. I flatten them out a little bit to help them bake more evenly.

    7. Bake at 375 degrees for 10 minutes or until getting golden brown around the edges.
    8. Enjoy!
