Publix Trip 1/27

Today's shopping trip was too big to fit into one picture which should make me feel a little bit better about the fact that I spent way more than normal. After a few straight weeks of not spending more than $30, today I spent $60. That may not sound like alot to some people but it has been awhile since I have seen that number at the register. I saved 64% this week and even though I ideally like to save at least 70%, I consider anything above 50% savings a success. When I think about how we used to spend at least $100 a week on a minimal amount of stuff (compared to what I got for $60 today), I am so thankful I started couponing.

Part of the reason I spent more than usual was that I got some higher priced items like laundry detergent and toilet paper. I also got a small pork tenderloin that was on sale as well as some fun frozen snacks for when we have people over on the weekends (Super Bowl). It was also a really good week at Publix for us and there were some pretty good sales on stuff that we have not bought since this summer and I wanted to get restocked on them.

Here is the breakdown:
Total retail value: $168.28
Total spent: $60.01
Total saved: $108.27
Percent saved: 64%
