The holiday sales are back! As you can probably tell from my photo, we are starting to see lots of great sales starting up for the holiday season. I was extremely happy about today's trip since I was able to get everything you see here including 25 pounds of meat for close to $40. I also hit up our local farmers' market last Saturday and grabbed some fresh OJ, local honey, fresh bread and a few fresh veggies for about $15 total. That brings my weekly total in right on budget around $55 total.

This is my second holiday season couponing and I learned from last year's sales what to stock up and how much to buy. I am planning to buy all my flour, sugar, turkey and ham for the year during the next few months. Based on what I bought last year (and how quickly we went through it all), I now know that I won't see alot of these sales/prices again all year and I am going to make sure our stockpile/freezer is full so I don't get stuck paying full price.

This week's trip was much more time consuming than my trips have been lately since I used tons of coupons and broke my trip down into three transactions to use three $5/$30 Winn Dixie coupons and since I had a few coupons that limit my number per transaction.  It took about an hour to prepare for which is much more than I have been spending prepping for my trips lately but to save over $100 I think it's worth it.

I was able to get tons of things for $1 and under. I also had two coupons for FREE products from a Facebook promo and from a sponsored blog post I have coming up.

One of my two turkeys.
I was also thrilled to find tons of blinkie coupons and in store coupons for items I was purchasing so it was nice to save more than I had originally expected. The frozen young turkey was advertised at .69 cents a pound  but it was priced .59 cents a pound in my store so I was able to get two almost 12 pound turkeys for under $14. We usually will roast one in our counter top roaster in the beginning of the week and then eat from it all week making soups and sandwiches with it too.
